Benevolences - National Ministries

The benevolence dollars from North Shore Church are used to support projects all across the United States. The National Association (NA) office is located here in Milwaukee and supports many Congregational Christian Churches from coast to coast. Fifteen percent of our total benevolence budget goes to national causes of which most are associated with the NA office. In the past year, we gave to seven NA sponsored groups:

1. The Congregationalist is a magazine publication produced five times a year. Copies can be found in our library or anyone can purchase a personal subscription. Spring of 2004, a fundraising bike ride was planned from California to the East Coast. Riders arrive in Milwaukee over Memorial Day weekend and stop and North Shore Church.

2. Congregational Foundation for Theological Studies which provide money to students studying to be congregational ministers.

3. NA Congregational Library

4. NA Ministers Enrichment and Assistance Fund

5. NA Retired Ministers Fund

6. Piedmont College is a liberal arts college located in northern Georgia. It offers 24 undergraduate majors and some masters degree programs. Piedmont has been associated with congregational churches since 1902.

7. Cook College, a 100 year old mission devoted to providing education to Native Americans to pursue ministry and leadership positions.

The NA office also supports six other missions in the US. They are located in Boston, Florida, Detroit, Kansas City, Tennessee, and Arizona.

Working with missions and providing support to them is what God has called us to do. It is our very purpose here. Thank you for your willingness to give generously for your support helps many others across the world who in turn are doing work to help even more people in need.
