More ideas on reading the Bible:
A few years ago, the Friday Morning Men's Discussion Group committed to read straight through the New Testament, from Matthew 1 to Revelation 22. Rev. Karl came in every Friday morning excited about what was happening at those breakfasts. It's worth a try!

Another person found much grace in beginning with two full weeks in the Psalms.
Another of Rev. Sue's favorites is called the "Daily Lectionary." It is an ecumenical resource that has been accepted by all major Christian denominations, and it covers nearly the entire Bible in a two-year cycle. Each day's lectionary (reading) includes a handful of verses from the Old Testament, the Gospels, and the Epistles (letters in the New Testament), as well as a morning and evening Psalm. It takes only minutes, and can be found in several books and denominational websites. Printable versions of the scripture reading list may be downloaded here.
